Overview

Japan Map—Prefectures Visited (“the App”) is an offline-first iOS app for tracking Japan’s 47 prefectures you have visited or want to visit. This policy explains what data the App handles and what it does not collect.

Data stored on your device

  • Visit records and wishlist
  • Discover checklist progress
  • Optional display name and profile photo you choose
  • Optional photos you attach to visits
  • Language preference and similar app settings

This data stays on your device unless you use iCloud Sync as described below.

iCloud Sync (optional)

If you are signed into iCloud on your Apple devices, the App may sync visit records, wishlist, Discover checks, and display name via Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store using your Apple ID. Visit photos remain on-device and are not synced. Apple processes this sync under Apple’s privacy terms.

Photos permission

The App may request access to Photos so you can choose a profile photo, attach visit memories, or save a share card image. Photos you select stay under your control on your device (and in your library if you save them).

What we do not collect

  • No account registration with us
  • No advertising SDKs or tracking for ads (the App currently has no ads)
  • No analytics SDKs that send usage data to the developer
  • No sale of personal data

Children

The App is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

Changes

We may update this policy when the App’s data practices change (for example, if advertising is added later). The “Last updated” date above will change when that happens.
